This 8-hour private 1-on-1 course includes:
- Hands-on preparation of cake base, frosting and coloring. Wonder how fruit and plant colors can produce such beautiful, nuanced colors? Let us demonstrate.
- Thorough training on the types of ingredients and materials we use, what to avoid, and where to purchase these items.
- Immediate and in-person feedback on technique and troubleshooting. Making a perfect cake in 1 shot? It's not as important as learning how to fix your mistakes.
- An inside look at how we manipulate and ply one simple ingredient, our potato frosting, to create the different textures required to frost a cake in a buttercream-style, fondant-style, and to create drip frosting. Yes, our frosting is 100% potato, and we'll show you how it's done!
- An overview on how to dissect a design; where to start, techniques to use, how to match colors.
Armed with this knowledge, you'll be able to create any design you can dream up with a mixture of the techniques you've learned.
This private workshop is by appointment only, and attendees are assumed to have at least some baking experience. While novices are welcome, please expect that there will be a learning curve.
